If you have the tendency to include a significant amount of green leafy in your daily diet plan, such as spinach, lettuce, and broccoli, it can result in green feces in adults. If you are a regular consumer of beet in your salads, you may observe a stool color that ranges from pink to dark red. Addition of food colors and dyes may also cause the excreta to turn green.
If the child complains of these symptoms, you should visit a pediatrician for check-up. At times the child may suffer from severe diarrhea, dizziness, bleeding rectum, respiratory problems, not passing enough urine as well as weakness. In such a case, the child needs to be taken to the hospital or doctor immediately.
Mineral oil lubricates the stool, thereby facilitating smooth passage of stool and lowering the risk of injury to the rectum and/or anus. It is recommended that mineral oil be consumed at bedtime. In severe cases, it can be consumed with hot water. Don't expect instant results. Expect bowel movement only after 6 to 8 hours of taking mineral oil.
