Passing green stool may point towards an unhealthy diet, stress, or medical conditions that might be affecting the body. Most often, the condition is a repercussion of ingesting certain foods. Green vegetables are known to be a common cause of green-hued feces. The same may occur post consuming medications or supplements. In some cases, green stool may indicate the presence of an infection in older kids and adults.
Pregnant women must consume food items that are rich in fiber. They must include fresh fruits and vegetables in their diet, as these are the best sources of dietary fiber. Along with fruits and vegetables, they must consume whole grains, oats, barley, cereals, brown rice, whole wheat bread, etc.
The food that we eat can also influence the color of the poop. Green vegetables in the diet is necessary for optimal health. Eating green vegetables in large amounts everyday is unlikely to damage your health but this habit can produce a harmless side effect that manifests in the form of green bowel movement.
